Action Plan

Freshman Year
I completed Freshman year by living off campus. I took a few jogging classes to keep active. I was first introduced to a debit card but never used a credit card. I attended several LDS institute assemblies. I pursued my vocal performance major by taking mostly music classes and a few electives. I auditioned for everything that came my way with some successes.
Freshman Summer
I spent performing in Jackson Hole as a lead vocalist in a dinner show. I worked as a waitress during the day. I continued to jog and continued my activity as a member of the LDS church.
Sophomore Year
I now have a family at home which is now my priority, so a schedule is important to maintain in order to accomplish anything. My major has changed to Hospitality Management with an emphasis in entertainment in tourism. I have focused on my new direction in courses. Finishing up generals and taking on some classes within my field of study such as Hospitality Management 1010 and Business Management.
Sophomore Summer
Completed 9 credits this summer semester. Mostly on line with a new baby at home. Included a physical fitness class and maintained a strict schedule of balancing home and school.
Junior Year
Take a full load this semester. Find pageants, competitions and performances that I can be involved in. Shadow talent judges and look for an internship such a vocal coach aid or begin teaching students of my own. Maintain a strict schedule to balance home and school.
Junior Summer
Ask for a letter of recommendation from my internship and focus on taking 9 credits this semester. Continue my internship and interview professional vocalists and pageant consultants as well as local spa’s and resorts. Continue teaching my own students and build client base. My husband graduates with his Bachelor’s and we are currently applying to jobs in his field. We will be relocating according to where he finds a career. Upon establishing residency, I will promptly find my daughters kindergarten registration, community involvement and registering for my online classes. Attend all church meeting and perform to my greatest ability in my service within my church and neighbors.
Senior Year
Immediately visit my career center for support that might be available to me. Begin to systematically identify alumni who can give career advice; learn how to conduct an effective information interview. Support my family at home and support my husband in his career by creating a healthy home. Maintain church activity.
Polish my resume. Polish the curriculum for my vocal students and start looking for upcoming pageants that I can consult or judge.
After Graduation
Graduate Spring 2015 in Hospitality Management. Continue to find seminars, classes, achievements, etc. to better qualify me as a vocalist. Never stop looking for more ways to learn. Audition for parts even if I’m not interested them and maintain involvement with at least 2 community activities. Take voice lessons and give voice lessons. Stay active and passionate about music.
When my kids are in school full time I plan on going on to graduate school. Concentrate on my roll as a wife and mother before my professional career. Make my second priority my church involvement. Always working to build upon my Spirituality and magnify my calling in my church.
At this point in life I would like to sell our home that is being rented and buy a home in our current place of residence. Other than our home, we will be debt free and on our way to saving and investing. Emergency fund will total our 6 month income and investing will be carefully and frugally chosen. A new family vehicle will be paid for in cash with the money we hope to make from selling our current vehicles and some money we make off of selling our home.
